Summer Bucket Lists!

We had so much fun making our summer bucket lists!  First we brainstormed a list of things we would like to do during the summer in a large circle map, whole group.  Then, I gave each child their own circle map.   They made their list on that .  Then, they transferred that into writing.  Super cute!!!!

Field Day!

Wow!  I have been so busy these past few weeks.  I had to make an emergency trip to Alabama to see my grandmother, who isn't doing well, last weekend and I flew back in to the work week tired and stressed!  So, I haven't blogged in quite a while.

We only have 3 days of school left!!!!!  Yay us!  We had field day on Friday and my class took the tug of war award again.  We are 2 year reigning champs!  The coaches were laughing at me because I was giving them pep talks.  This is serious stuff.  haha.....We ended filed day with popsicles and a dance party.  I even managed to do a few cartwheels for them.

Now, I am headed to the pool to relax!  Have a wonderful weekend.

Angry Birds Adjectives

Thank goodness if is FRIDAY!  With just 13 1/2 days left of school, we are in review mode.  They are getting restless so I used Angry Birds to help out.

Double Bubble Map that we did as a whole group to review adjectives.

These are the smaller Double Bubble Maps the kids made.

Anchor Charts

Most of these were stole from Pinterest and I revamped them, in some cases I left them identical to the ones I saw.

Personal Narratives

I totally stole this idea from Pinterest but was very pleased at how well my EL kids did with this BFF writing.

First I modeled the writing for the kids.
Then, they filled out a Tree Map to help them with their writing.
Next, they began writing their sloppy copy.
After that, I proofed their papers and gave them a rubric to make sure they had all parts of the paper.
Finally, they published and illustrated their final copy.
